Belgrade, 14 April 2015 – Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development Srdjan Verbic and US Ambassador to Serbia Michael Kirby today signed a Memorandum of understanding on the Fulbright academic exchange programme, which provides for an increase in the number of scholars and intensive cooperation of educational, scientific and research institutions of Serbia and the United States.

Verbic said that the Fulbright grants are intended for students, professors and researchers, and that there have been 150 Fulbright programme participants from Serbia in the last 15 years.

The Minister of Education also noted that this programme exists in more than 150 countries.

Kirby said that the Fulbright academic exchange programme is one of the most prestigious American exchange programmes and that it is good that the Ministry of Education wants to help young people get their education in the United States.
