The Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in Washington, Marko Đurić, began his working week with a series of meetings with members of the House of Representatives in the US Congress.

"We have an extremely important working week ahead of us, both in Washington and in New York. Only yesterday and today, I talked with as many as four congressmen who are in charge of our region in the Foreign Policy Committee, and by the end of the week, I will have more meetings like this at the Capitol. When you want to present the positions of your country in a good way, it is necessary to maintain an intensive and regular dialogue with all representatives of the Congress, and that is why my interlocutors come equally from the ranks of the Democratic and Republican parties", said Đurić.

As the most important event for our country this week, Ambassador Đurić singled out tomorrow's reception in honor of the conceptual artist Marina Abramović and the celebration of the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Serbia and the United States.

"As the envoy of the President of the Republic, I will solemnly present the gold medal of merit to the great Marina Abramović. This decoration is the gratitude of Serbia to our world-famous artist for representing our country, as well as for exceptional merits and achieved results in the field of culture, and especially in the art of performance", Đurić emphasized.

"Apart from the presence of high-ranking officials from the American administration, a special part for our country will be the showing of a promotional video on the occasion of our diplomatic jubilee, which will be broadcast throughout the day in the heart of Manhattan, on famous big screens in Times Square", he added.
